Invented tactile suit, allowing you to hear through the skin

Not Impossible Labs has introduced a tactile suit that allows a person to hear sounds with a new way through vibrations.

The technology uses our body’s reactions to a somatosensory system, consisting of a minimum of 12 known receptors. In fact, the costume can transmit surrounding sounds, music or speech in the brain through vibrations. Instead of the ears for the delivery of signals in the brain, various nervous reactions of the body are used.

Similar technologies can be found in smartphones and some virtual reality systems.

Initially, NIL engineers created a suit for deaf and hearing impaired people to help them better perceive surrounding sounds. However, according to the team, the development can be used in various fields, for example, to obtain more vivid impressions from virtual reality or concert.
